Day of Few Expectations

…woke-up 4:30am, still sleepy, but have to leave early for Makati. Seeing my old school and the DBTI field where I first learned football – gave me back the joy and the peace of mind that I had when I was still a stupid young boy. The expectations are low – “I am here to play”, that’s it. I was asked to handle our senior team and gave it the name “Super Seniors” – named after the Korean boy band, Super Juniors. We were also told that we need to create another team for the Men’s Open Division, and we decided to name it – “Team Omega”… not because of any fraternity or sponsorship of an expensive watch but because of the pain killer/liniment used by the guys. One game after the other, from one field to another – losing a game, winning shoot-outs, beating tough teams… all of the teams are well balanced… the combination of the strength and aggressiveness of the boys and the wisdom of the veterans resulted to the historical back to back championship… and yet my expectations that day are low… that is why I Love Football.

Daily Tumbles and Turns

... the feeling of emptiness and self pity are dangerous. Do not allow yourself to be trapped... do not even entertain the thought of not being worthy of living...
